Teacher2Home gives students a safe and controlled environment to learn about Social Networking: make mistakes, learn etiquette, know what and what not to do.
Fact
Our children are using or will be using social networking sites (e.g. Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, etc...)

Here are the visitor statistics from one site - Facebook. They are from only one month (a 30-day period of August 2009):
Unique Visitors – 110 M
GenderMale: 43%
Female: 57%
Age0 – 17: 18%18 – 24: 7%
25 – 34: 14%
35 – 44: 20%
45 – 54: 24%
55 – 64: 12%
65 or more: 4%
18% of the 110M unique visitors is 19,800,000 school age children in one month - and growing - just on Facebook!
They are using these sites. The questions are: What are we doing as parents and teachers to guide, protect and instruct our children? Where do they learn about its use, its benefits, its pitfalls? Who teaches them about internet predators? We know the answer - no one - they are mostly on their own - alone in cyberspace.
In order to teach children about social networking, we need to show them and let them practice in a sequestered, private environment. Teacher2Home has included certain social networking capabilities secured behind your child's private access.
- Chat with Teacher, Students, Parents - no one else - no public access
- Discussion groups monitored by the Teacher
To help the teacher, Teacher2home will be developing CEU classes about social networking and related issues.
